Travellers making their way to Bermuda will enjoy a vast array of activity choices from sightseeing and museums to exquisite golf courses and luxurious spas, not to mention the markets, nightlife, restaurants and of course, the beaches.

You do not have to be retired on your Bermuda holidays to get in a round or two of golf, there are almost a dozen great golf courses where you can tee off and swing until your heart’s content.

If you are not a golfer, don’t worry. Bermuda has it all, including bird watching, deep-sea fishing, horseback riding and interesting sightseeing opportunities in the Historic St. George area.

One of the main reasons people come to Bermuda is for the laid-back lifestyle. Although there is nightlife, your Bermuda holidays will not be filled with wild and crazy party nights, unless of course, you create them yourself. The local night scene is a pleasant one where holidaygoers have plenty of choices between cosy wine bars, pubs, and serene cocktail lounges. The nighttime feel around these parts is more of an urban sophistication, which makes for a nice family environment.

Of course, the beaches are a draw to this part of the world no matter what your age and there are plenty to choose from. Warwick Long Bay, Elbow Beach, Jobson’s Cove, and Horseshoe Bay are only a few choices. The latter is a hit with families for its easy access parking, concession stands, and change rooms.

The ‘Three Valleys’ is one of the most popular ski areas to visit in the French Alps, comprising Courchevel, Val Thorens and Meribel, as well as L’Espace Killy.  These traditional ski destinations have a range of slopes for both amateurs and professionals, as well as trainers and schools for people that either want to learn to ski or snowboard from scratch, or those that want to improve their current skills. 

Another popular area is the fairly new Paradiski Area – a purpose built ski destination with not only snow and slopes, but also shopping opportunities, lots of restaurants and various bars and cafes.  Les Deux Alpes and Chamonix are two other popular ski destinations, which have fantastic views over the Alps to admire when you are flying down one of the notoriously steep runs. 

There are lots of places to stay in the French Alps too, from villa cottages for large groups of people, or little log cabin guest houses.  In addition, the nightlife is varied and the restaurants around the region serve a great mix of local and international cuisine.

The island of Lanzarote has some of the best beaches, predominantly filled with black volcanic sand.  The mountainous landscapes and peaceful vibe make this one of the more sedate destinations of the Canary Islands, ideal for people who want to get away from it all.

A quick ferry journey however, and you can get across to Fuerteventura, where the pace picks up quite a lot.  Lively high streets such as Playa de Las Americas come alive at night with numerous super clubs, and there are lots of shopping malls, amusement arcades, and cuisine of all kinds in the many restaurants.  There is a peaceful haven to be found on this island however, in the resort of Corralejo, which was once a sleepy fishing village, and is now a purpose-built resort with leisure facilities and a good selection of hotels.

Gran Canaria is also fairly lively, with plenty of golden beaches that house bars, restaurants and clubs.  Inland, the landscape is breathtaking, and it is well worth hiring a moped to go and explore some of the caves or forested areas.

There is a wide selection of slides, tunnels and water fun play areas as well as plenty of swimming pools a great day out for children and adults alike. You should also check out Tenerife’s newest attraction, Siam Park, which also has a wicked selection of slides and plenty of pools, but you can also enjoy dolphin and sea lion shows.

Tenerife also has a number of wildlife parks as well dotted around its volcanic habitat the Jungle Park has stunning waterfalls, lagoons as well as exotic plants and wildlife, accessed by suspension bridges. There is also Loro Park which is one of the most popular on the island which has a great selection of animals and is famed for its world’s largest collection of parrots!

One thing that can put people off travelling with young children is flights and transfers; Tenerife is only four and a half hours from the UK by air which isn’t too long for little ones. Many holidays also offer airport transfers so when booking a holiday to Tenerife it is important to make a note of all relevant flight and transfer times in advanced of departure to make it easier on your selves when traveling.

The city has such rich cultural heritage that UNESCO has named the core of the city as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage Site since 1992.  Since the city is filled with churches visiting them all in a day is impossible. However some of the churches that should not be missed are the Church of St. Nicolas with its beautiful ceiling paintings, the Church of St. Giles, Church of St. Gall and Church of St. Martin. 

The Old Town Hall with its hourly procession of the twelve apostles from the Town Hall Clock is a major tourist attraction.   The Knights of the Cross Square offers great views of the Vltava and is located in front of the Old Town Bridge Tower. 

Built around 1200 the Palace of the Lords of Kunstat houses the best Romanesque rooms in Prague and a historical exhibition is held here in memory of a Hussite King, George of Podebrady.  The Clam-Gallas Palace is an example of outstanding Baroque style of architecture. Beethoven performed some of his most famous works at the Palace theatre.

Although generally a warmer climate, there are times when Thailand does have cooler months that make it great for visitors. From about mid-October to the end of March holidaymakers will find the heat tolerable. These just happen to be the months with the least amount of rain.

Thailand is a special place of ancient history and tradition and it is for this reason you will notice an even flow of regular festivals. Any festival that’s based on a religious origin is scheduled around the lunar calendar so dates for important traditional festivals tend to change from one year to the next. 

In Thailand, various religious celebrations take place. In addition, there are festivals in celebration of the monarchy. The whole nation attends events in August and December to celebrate the birth anniversaries of the Queen and King every year, respectively. However, several festivals can be relied upon to take place around the same time every year. If you are taking your holidays in Thailand during the spring, The Thai New Year is celebrated each mid-April. 

The fall is when the local people celebrate summer harvests, so in September and October, you will find a long string of harvest related festivals planned around the country. One of the largest and most celebrated is the Vegetarian Festival. Every year, Buddhists participate in a 10-day vegetarian diet, while celebrating with parades, processions, and even fire walking.

However, entertainment isn’t the only thing you need to keep in mind when taking your kids on a holiday.  As a parent, you also need to keep your babies safe.  Here are a few tips and tricks to travelling successfully with the kids:

•    If you are travelling to your holiday destination by air, make sure that your child is securely buckled into the seat.  And, if the oxygen mask drops, always put your own mask on first.  Instinct might be to take care of your kid first, but you won’t be much help if you are unconscious.
•    If your child is old enough, feel free to explain expectations of behaviour before the flight or car ride.
•    Travelling in the car or on the plane is not the time to teach your child a lesson.  This is especially true during air travel – your seatmates don’t want to hear your kid crying the whole time.
•    Do your best to keep the kids entertained.  Take a small backpack filled with their favourite games, toys, and snacks. Books and fims go a long way in the back of a car or on the plane.

Holiday apartments are typically available close to the city centre areas of major cities.  On the Continent, Rome and Paris in particular have a large number of holiday apartments available, as do a number of other cities, and many are located in the same areas as the more upmarket hotels.  You will typically have access to spacious living areas and a full kitchen with a separate dining area.  Holiday apartments with two, three, and even four bedrooms – as well as multiple bathrooms – are also widely available.

The cost of staying in a holiday apartment is typically much lower than staying in a hotel suite of a comparable size.  Because kitchen facilities are usually offered, you can easily visit a local grocer for food and prepare your own meals.  This is quite helpful if you will be spending your holiday in an area that is filled with expensive restaurants, or are travelling with a large family on a tight budget.  

Benidorm is Spain’s largest resort, and was one of the first tourist developments back in the 1950’s and 1960’s when package holidays were just emerging, so it really is a destination that has been at the forefront. When arriving, you will probably be surprised to see such a cosmopolitan look for a Spanish holiday resort, buzzing with people mingling around the tall skyscrapers you may think you were somewhere else. However once you get close to the ocean you realise where you are, with Benidorm’s famed golden beaches.

Dotted in and around the area you will find a whole host of hotels, everything from basic self-catering apartments to glitzy five star hotels and families, solo travellers and those looking for adults only accommodation are all nicely covered. With accommodation nicely covered it’s no surprise that every year some 1.3 million Brits holiday here! The British influence is easy to spot, a simple meal out can take through traditional Spanish fare however you are not far away from somewhere that offesr traditional English grub so you can get your fry ups and Sunday dinners. There are other cuisines covered by the many different restaurants in Benidorm and as well as a wide choice of eateries, Benidorm is also famed for its bars and nightlife.

Nightlife isn’t just restricted for the young or young at heart there is a wide range of entertainment on offer, if you want to relax in a jazz club or enjoy some local cabaret why not head to the Old Town, here the pace is a little more sedate. The newer parts of this resort is famed for its night life with buzzing clubs which rock on till the small hours and many of the hotels also provide fantastic performances on an evening for their guests so you won’t be short of anything to enjoy.

One thing that draws many people to Benidorm is it fantastic beaches, most notable Levante and Poniente with the latter slightly less lively than Levante. As you would guess like many Mediterranean resorts there is plenty to keep you occupied on the beaches, with water sports proving popular for young and old alike. There are plenty of places to eat and drink around the beaches so you never have to go far.

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the main resort then head off to the Old Town, here you will find more traditional white wash buildings and plenty of local charm. There is traditional Spanish food available so why not get a taste at a local tapas restraint and slow the pace of your holiday down a little and relax like the locals!

Utila’s main attraction is diving, as professionals and backpackers come from all over the world to catch a glimpse of the vast coral reef. Plus, diving is cheaper in this part of the world and that attracts a lot of international visitors to the tiny island. If you plan to dive in Utila, there are several reputable shops on the island. Spend an afternoon at least a few different shops to find the best fit for you.

Just over 11 kilometres long and 4 kilometres wide, Utila can easily be traversed by bicycle. The island has very few cars and even fewer roads. Lodging options include cheap hostels, moderately-priced hotels, and private holiday rental homes. Whatever you choose, your stay in Utila is sure to be unforgettable.
